However, WhatsApp did not disclose exactly how many government surveillance the WhatsApp accounts. At least 24 people have been hacked into whatsapp accounts by journalists, academics, dalits and human rights activists. Facebook said in a statement that its WhatsApp accounts had been hacked for two weeks in May this year and that it had notified the victims of the hacking through a special message.
